What is it?
Certificate 3 Guarantee funding is a Queensland government program that provides public funding towards the cost of training and assessment services for eligible Queenslanders. The program is managed by Department of Employment, Small Business and Training their website can be accessed here DESBT website
How does it work?
The program allows you to choose a preferred registered training organisation such as LT Training that delivers nationally recognised, accredited training. You can enrol with us for a scheduled face to face course or you could enrol self-paced learning with practical activities at your workplace or at a venue organised by LT Training.
To be eligible participants must:
Have either finished or left secondary school
Be 15 years of age or older
Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen permanently residing in Queensland
Not hold or be currently undertaking a certificate III or higher-level qualification (not including qualifications undertaken while still at secondary school)
Note that employment status is NOT a factor.
For more information, you can download Student fact sheet DESBT
How much will it cost?
Given the benefits that accrue to individuals from training, students will be required to contribute to the costs of their training through a co-contribution fee. The fee may be paid on behalf of the student by the employer or a third party unrelated to LT Training, but cannot be paid or waived by LT Training. The cost will be $2.00 per unit for students. A concessional student co-contribution fee is $1.00 per unit. This fee will have to be paid upon enrolment.
The concessional student co-contribution fee applies to:
- Students (or their partner or guardian) who hold a Health Care or Pensioner Concession Card
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
- School students who enrolled in a VETiS program
- Students with a disability
- Students who are adult prisoners
Without certificate 3 guarantee the course is worth $5,640.00
