Standard Certificate III in Individual Support course:
This Certificate III in Individual Support course is developed to be conducted face to face on the Sunshine Coast near the Maroochydore area. We focus on students that do not qualify for funding, and we are by far the cheapest in Queensland! It is anticipated this course will take up to 13 weeks to complete. You will be required to attend three days weekly. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday starting 9:00 am – 4:00 pm unless we don’t have enough bookings for the face to face schedule.
The course duration also depends on your 120 hours placement and your availability to work these hours.
During your course you will be provided with:

- National Police Check (Approx $50)
*Satisfactory results of a National Police Check are required for work placement. You will also be required to be flu vaccinated and have had a minimum of the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

This nationally recognised qualification reflects the basic knowledge and skills in the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason. Employment opportunities are and will be in high demand with anyone that holds this qualification and may include work in the following areas:

Certificate III in Individual Support includes the theoretical and practical components of thirteen (13) units of competency. All students must complete four weeks (120 hours) work placement to receive their qualification.
Start Date of Certificate III in Individual Support Sunshine Coast:
Intakes start now! The method will be self-paced tutorial trainer-led learning. You will catch up with the trainer to support you on your journey from time to time and to conduct practical activities.
Intakes for the face-to-face classes start Tuesday 07 September 2021 late enrolments will be accepted with discretion.
A special price of $995 per person for the first 8 students. After this, the price is $2149 per person. LT Training has no funding available for this course. Other costs will be the National Police Check and travel costs to get to your class and work placement.
There are no entry requirements for Certificate III in Individual Support.
However, you will need to complete a level III Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Indicator, Police check, Covid – 19 both injections and Flu vaccine and be physically able to perform required manual handling duties needed for the job.

On successful completion of Certificate III in Individual Support, participants will be issued a ‘CHC33015 Certificate III – Individual Support (Ageing)’ certifying the competence of the 13 units completed.
To complete the specialisation CHC33015 Certificate III – Individual Support (Ageing, Home and community), you will need an additional two units to complete. The cost will be $150/unit.
The course is developed to be delivered face to face. If needed, Tutoring support will be via phone, face-to-face, emails, or online (Zoom) tutoring sessions. Work placements are organised across various Sunshine Coast locations at pre-approved facilities.
On completion of the fourth unit and prerequisites (Police check, Covid-19, Flu vaccination), work placement can begin Monday and Friday.
We acknowledge each student have different needs and availability. Your work placement might start after you have completed the face-to-face part of the course.
The placement work of 120 hours is unpaid.
Students are required to complete 120 hours of vocational placement. This will be recorded in a workplace logbook of direct care within an approved aged care facility or community services organisation. LT Training will assist you in helping to find vocational placement through partnerships and local Queensland employment contacts. If you already have employment in the industry or would like to find your own vocational placement we will help set it up for you.
Vocational placement is also known as work placement is where you get placed in a workplace in the industry and get hands-on experience working with industry professionals and in different workplaces. Vocational placement is unpaid work, this is one of the best ways to learn new skills and build good relationships with employers and contacts. While students are doing vocational placement they will be required to organise their own transport to their selected workplace.
LT Training will consider RPL for the units of competency if the applicant can provide sufficient evidence.
Due to this course’s discounted rate, full payment must be made at the time of booking.

Q. Do I have to have the COVID-19 Vaccine to work in aged care?
A. Yes. From 17 September 2021, it is mandatory. “Residential aged care workers will be required to have received a minimum first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by this time.” (Source)
